Individual and Group Registration
In New Mexico, law enforcement’s response to the gang problem has taken a variety of forms. The most comprehensive, both substantively and geographically, has been through the New Mexico Gang Task Force (NMGTF). The NMGTF was created in 1990 to assist law enforcement and criminal justice agencies throughout New Mexico in dealing with the mounting gang problems. The composition of the NMGTF has changed dramatically over the years but is currently the largest organized multi-jurisdictional gang task force in the state, with more than 60 law enforcement member agencies.
As such, the NMGTF will be holding its 20th Annual Law Enforcement Gang Conference on April 30th-May 1-2, 2018 at the Isleta Resort and Casino. The estimated 1000 conference participants are law enforcement, prosecutorial and corrections agencies from New Mexico as well as surrounding states.
This year we have partnered with the New Mexico Sheriff and Police Athletic League (NMSPAL) uniting in a goal to provide federal, state, local and tribal agencies with training, intelligence, and funding to enhance interdiction and enforcement efforts, with the goal of reducing criminal gang activity, including narcotics trafficking, throughout New Mexico.
